Ophthalmology

The ophthalmology department provides complete eye examination and surgery for children and adults. Cataract operations are performed by phacoemulsification, in about 15 minutes as a day case; monofocal and multifocal lens options are explained according to the patient's needs.

Early diagnosis of diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration and glaucoma is made with optical coherence tomography (OCT) and visual field tests; intravitreal injection and laser treatment are applied when needed.

For patients who want to be free of glasses, suitability is assessed after corneal topography; every candidate is informed in writing about expected results and risks.
